Community Education

As a public health agency, the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District is committed to achieving clean air to protect the public's health and the environment throughout Yolo County and the northeast portion of Solano County.

The Community Education division serves the public and the media as the District's clearinghouse for information about its programs and operations. The division coordinates outreach programs with other agencies including Spare the Air, Mow Down Air Pollution, Bike Commute Month and manages district programs such as Don't Light Tonight, Stop at the Click and participation in community events.

As part of our public outreach and education, the District celebrates and supports a variety of activities recognized both locally and nationally such as Car Care Month, Try Transit Week, Bike to Work Week, Clean Air Month and Asthma Awareness Day.

Some of the other functions include preparing and producing non-technical publications for the general public, overseeing public relations and promotional activities on behalf of the District, conducting educational programs in the schools and managing the District's website.
